1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that the website stores in your browser to remember something between one page and the next, or between one visit and the following one: your cookie choice, an open session, a statistical identifier. There are similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage (localStorage); in this policy we treat them in the same way as cookies.
They are governed by article 22.2 of Ley 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and, where they make it possible to identify a person, by the GDPR and the LOPDGDD (the Spanish data protection act). We follow the guidance on the use of cookies issued by the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (Spanish Data Protection Agency).
2. How we ask for your permission
The first time you arrive, a notice appears at the bottom of the screen with three options: Accept all, Essential only and Manage, where you choose category by category. Until you decide, only essential cookies are installed.
- There are no pre-ticked boxes, and carrying on browsing does not count as consent.
- Refusing takes the same effort as accepting: one click, in the same notice.
- Your choice is stored for 12 months. After that, or if we make a significant change to the cookies we use, we will ask you again.
- You can change it whenever you like (see section 5).
3. What cookies this website uses
These are all the cookies that digency.es can install. Third-party ones are only installed if you accept their category.

As well as cookies, the website uses browser storage for four technical things. None of it leaves your device or serves to identify you:
digency_cookies(localStorage): A copy of your cookie choice, in case the cookie is lost. Duration: 12 months.digency_chat_v1(sessionStorage): Your conversation with the assistant, so it isn't lost when you move to another page. Duration: until you close the tab.digency_chat_invitado(sessionStorage): Remembers that the assistant has already shown you its invitation, so it isn't repeated. Duration: until you close the tab.digency_sesion(sessionStorage): A random tab identifier we use to count visits to the site in aggregate, only if you accept analytics cookies. It can't identify you: the server keeps a summary that changes every day and doesn't retain your IP address. Duration: until you close the tab.
Marketing: today we install no cookie in this category. We include it in the panel because, if in the future we switch on tools to measure advertising campaigns (from Meta or Google Ads, for example), they will only load with your permission, and we will update this table first.
The WhatsApp button and the artificial intelligence assistant install no cookies on this website: the assistant only uses the session storage described above. The button is an external link: when you press it, the WhatsApp app or website applies its own cookies and terms.
4. Categories and legal basis
- Essential. Indispensable for the website to work or to provide a service you have asked for: remembering your cookie choice, the language you picked, or keeping the admin panel session open. They are exempt from consent (art. 22.2 LSSI-CE) and cannot be switched off from the panel. Their basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website working.
- Analytics. They measure how the website is used (which pages are viewed, from which device, for how long) in aggregate, so we can improve it. They are provided by Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited). They are only installed with your consent.
- Marketing. These would measure advertising campaigns and show ads related to your browsing. We do not use any today. If we switch them on, it will only be with your consent.
5. How to change or withdraw your choice
At the foot of every page there is a Cookie settings button that reopens the panel: there you can switch each category on or off and save. Withdrawing your consent is as easy as giving it, and it does not affect anything processed up to that point; from then on the website stops loading the script in question.
You can also delete or block cookies from your browser. If you block the essential ones, the website will ask you again on every visit:
To switch off Google Analytics on every website at once, Google offers a browser opt-out add-on.
6. Third parties and transfers
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google may transfer the data to Google LLC, in the United States, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses. First-party cookies never go beyond your browser and our server. We do not use them to identify you and we do not cross them with other data.
